While on holiday in our final destination Beijing, China, I learned some core lessons. One of which will remain with me everyday for the rest of my life.
After breakfast, I made my way out, joining up with the rest of the tour-group. I had this gut-feeling that I had forgotten something! I asked everyone to wait for me while I tried to figure it out.
I ran up to my room hastily, then the Lord asked me: ”Would you walk out of your house naked?” I said: ”No Lord!! Why?”. He replied: ”You are to going to war naked Gerry, always remember your armor.”
In that moment I realized often times when things get to a point of familiarity we so easily tend to let our guard down but we need to remember the war is real and the just shall live by faith. So I put on my full armor, anointed my head, hands and feet with oil – I was able to walk forth in victory.
Ephesians 6:10-17 (NIV): ”Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the FULL ARMOR OF GOD, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”
