Her big heart and my woolly heart !

, , , ,

I heard about a women who died because her heart was to big, literally. Someone told me the story. Apparently she was a missionary. Her life was one devoted to the love of others and to spreading the good news of salvation to the lost.

This particular story and what I can remember of it always remained in the thickets of my woolly heart, somewhere alongside the fairy tale stories I’d read and the romances of the bible in the books of Ruth, Esther and Solomon. The reason it hid there is because it seemed so surreal.

Imagine it, passing on because your heart simply outgrew the earth and its pains, a heart so big that it could no longer fill her tiny human chest. How extraordinary! A heart that had to go upward because it could no longer remain inward!

I never searched more on the topic because I want it to be true.

I want to believe that there are others out there, people, mere human beings that can love to the point of death, like Jesus did. Love to the max! I want to believe that it is possible to love no matter what!

To love through the good and the bad. To love no matter what kind of yucky surrounds you! Mannn… what a legacy!

I remember a dance I had with Father God once. I remember this as one of my very first encounters of true love!

I was at cell group and we were praying, singing, all of us. My eyes were tightly shut. I envisioned myself as a small girl (but I was me, exactly at that age – around 20 at the time).

I wore a little white frilly gown and I was standing on the feet of Father God while He danced with me! It was so real that I sometimes have to remind myself that it was not a memory but a vision. God was so tangible. I remember worrying about His feet. Was I to heavy? Would I fall off? Was I dancing right? Could I trust Him? Could He lead me?

The answers surfaced in the days, weeks, months and years to follow. He taught me LOVE! You see, as kiddies, we have love pockets that are either filled with love, acceptance and joy or the opposite. Many of mine were a toss between the good and the bad. I could not understand or decipher what real love was or how to receive it.

Honestly I still do not know how to put it into words. I do however know what to call love. Undeserving, unwavering, precious, purposeful, intentional love –

His name is Jesus.

Romans 5:8 God commendeth His Love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

He sends people (and even animals) to teach us what love is. I married a man who loves me the way I am in every which way. Seriously. I have a friend that loves me to the depths of my core, even the not-so-great bits. I have cats who show me their love by meowing when I talk to them. When I look outside and its raining I always feel so grateful because He rains on the righteous and unrighteous which again is such a prime facet of Gods loving grace! There are soooo many examples of the way Jesus loves us everyday. I could write for days on end if I had to mention but only a few…

Its magnificently complicated and intricately simple this love thang.

Its ”unreal” like that lady who died because her heart outgrew her! I am learning how to love everyday because of those who have chosen to tap into the heart beat of God and share it just because they can! How selfless, Jesus, oh precious Saviour! What a privilege to be on the receiving end of your love!

2015-02-23 22.20.46The trick here is to acknowledge love, those who have it, those who share it, those who want it, those who need it. A quick note – Receive it. Bask in it. Wallow in it. Appreciate it. Recognize it. Take it – all of it … so that you can give it away! There is nothing more to this life that that …. no greater joy than to love and be loved.

To the Creator of Love – THANK YOU – without Him there would be no such glorious mystery such as love and all of its wonderfulness! Soak it in! Its marvellous!

When I think of her big heart and my woolly heart (where everything is tangled and intertwined) I smile because there is hope after-all. Love exists. It conquers all and it is above all.

It is the purpose and reason for all existence. So give it a go – hop onto His feet and dance! Let me know how it goes!?

Pray Today!

, , , , ,

It’s so random how sometimes praying feels so foreign.

There are times when I have found it so difficult to pray, to the point where it has felt as ridiculous as trying to speak a completely new language, one I have heard about on the news but never had the opportunity to learn, or quite truthfully not had an interest in either.

I have felt almost envious of those it seems to come so naturally to during dry patches in my walk. Praying should be second nature to every Christian right? We should be like cool the rock star gangsters of prayer! ūüėČ

But as life has it, it is not so easy. It takes Effort. Time. Commitment. It even takes some training. Prayer is a skill, a gift. One that needs to be nurtured and practised. I have always found Stormie Omartians¬†prayer books extremely helpful, easy to pray prayers that hit every topic in the bull’s-eye! Thank God for people like her!

Prayer opens doors - we have to open our hearts!

Prayer opens doors – we have to open our hearts!

I must tell you though, that there are however very hopeful days! Days like today – where I chose to pursue Him, where I eat, sleep and live prayer! It’s all I could do, for almost the whole entire day! Such grace!

It was so refreshing, I felt like I had returned from a conference about prayer with loads of fellowship! Mind you that is exactly what it was. Me, the Holy Spirit and coffee…

The effects of prayer are just astounding! PEACE being the most recognizable! May the Lord grant us the stamina along with the gift of persistence today to press on toward exalting Him through the glorious rich communication of prayer!

A praying Christian is a powerful Christian! PRAY TODAY!

Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I thought, yeah… ok. Um, am I missing something?

And then I read THE WHOLE PSALM

Reading the entire Psalm brought everything into perspective.

You see, in my experience, life is like that most times, God gives us a single simple instruction and once obeyed,

everything else falls into place.

All He desired for me today, was to recognize His power and His goodness.

Get Your Hands Dirty!

, , , , , , , ,

This question was always the deal breaker in almost every interview I conducted, from casual workers to management –

Are you a hands-on person? And if so, give me an example of when you ‘got your hands dirty’?

One of the most important facets of being considered a successful Senior Manager was the relentless willingness to Get Your Hands Dirty!

I have learned that this concept applies to literally every aspect of our lives, from the simple things like spring cleaning the house, gardening and washing the dishes, to the more meaningful matters like ministering to people on the streets; entering places where no-one else wants to go to reach those no ones knows about, or spending your leisure time serving others in ways that seem trivial and unrecognised by society. Every attempt at love pleases God!

Ok, perhaps I am going a little off base now, but bear with me.

I was never the gardening type, if anything, I killed every single plant I ever had!!¬†ūüėȬ†In the past year however, I asked the Lord to bless me with a ”green thumb’‘ so that I could resurrect the patch of garden coinciding with our wooden deck and hopefully grow a few gorgeous plants in some pots to give the verandah a more homely feel.

Needless to say, I have done it! Not quite mastered it but I am getting there. The only thing that I find unconventional is the fact that weeds pop up within days, super strong, fully grown weeds! And the beautiful plants, the ones I desire to see flourish, take their sweet time to develop!!!

I have plucked out countless weeds now, but amidst all this ”maintenance” I have also experienced the reward of some rather lovely plants and a much better garden!

Back to ‘getting your hands dirty’, as with my garden, all things in life require perseverance, some more than others, like weeds grow super fast; so do the tiny compromises we make.

The only way to move on and move up is to clear out! Get your hands dirty!

Repenting by saying we are sorry is one thing, repenting by changing our actions is quite another. Good fruit takes time to grow, so give yourself time, but it is crucial that you do the tedious effort of plucking out those weeds so that they do not hinder your spiritual growth!

Let us take courage in this:

Romans 5:3-5 KJV РNot only so, but we[a] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Lessons From the Wilderness: Part Four

Cheryl McGrath wrote:

”In the busy metropolis of organized Christianity life centres around the temple and its activities. In the empty spaces of the wilderness, Christ Himself becomes our life and we become His temple.

The "Pinnacle" of theTemple

In the wilderness nothing is man-made.  All that is needed for survival must be provided by God.  In His wilderness journey Jesus would have sheltered in caves or one of the many rocky recesses to be found in the cliff faces.  He would have refreshed Himself at the small springs of water that occasionally break forth from beneath the arid terrain. He would have crossed paths with nomadic herders, tent dwellers who were content to make the wilderness their home.  As someone has wisely noted, not all who wander are lost.

In his three major temptations of Jesus, Satan had by now used up two of his trump cards:  the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh.  Jesus has resisted each of them.  Having caught on that Jesus will not be detoured from the Word of God, Satan now cloaks himself in piety and for the first…

_desert-of-southern-judeaWhen Jesus was led into the wilderness after His baptism at the Jordan, He was full of the Spirit of God (Lk 4:1).   Many days later He returned from the wilderness to Galilee, this time in the power of the Spirit (Lk 4:14). Something happened in the wilderness that empowered Jesus more deeply to hear, obey and move in complete compliance with the Holy Spirit.    Later He would say “the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does… “(Jn 5:19).  His wilderness experience was instrumental in enabling Him to both live and walk wholly by the Spirit of God.   The scriptures record that often when Jesus was pressed by the crowds He would return to the wilderness (Lk. 5:16; Mark 1:35; Mark 6:32). For Jesus, the wilderness was not…

Wilderness‚Ķ.you‚Äôve either been there, are there right now, or don‚Äôt want to go there‚Ķ.. ever!¬† I remember being taught the only safe place for a Christian was ‚Äėin the fellowship of other Christians‚Äô, meaning a thriving church scene surrounded by people who dressed in the same clothes, spoke the same language, sang the same songs and apparently had their Christianity all sorted out.¬† Wilderness was a place for sinners, rebels and ‚Äėlone rangers‚Äô they said.

I was told that Christians were like burning embers that only remained on fire as long as they gathered closely together.  Remove one ember from the Body of Christ, they said, and poof! that ember would  grow cold and inevitably lose hold of their Christian faith.  I must admit it sounded logical at the time.  It was several years before I came to understand the Body of Christ is knit together not by physical proximity…

Pro-Life VS Pro-Choice

, , , , , , , ,

He extended His hand to hers

She still can’t figure out why, why He would do such a kind thing?

Especially for some-one like her

What was it He saw, that she did not see?

They say it is murder

The worst part is that she could not disagree

A beautiful spirit was denied the right to live

One called, one destined and now to let go and forgive?

No – she could not possibly receive such grace!

The one person who was supposed to keep him safe

Took her ”pro-choice” priveldge and threw him away

Her precious little baby died that day

Was it really her prerogative?

Or did people invent an easier alternative to deny the word of God

By giving man the legal right to kill

And all it took was the insertion of a deadly pill

Jesus said she was not beyond redemption

The truth came to set everyone free from their sin

So He breathed life through the crevices of her broken heart

And commanded that from her sin she was to depart

He extended His hand to hers

She still can’t figure out why, why He would do such a kind thing?

Especially for some-one like her

What was it He saw, that she did not see?

So if you dare, pick up that stone, throw it and throw it with all your might because nothing could be worse than what she has done to herself, to her child!! Absolutely nothing!!!

John 8:10¬†– ¬†Jesus straightened up and asked her, ”Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

‚ÄúNo one, sir,‚Ä̬†she said.

‚ÄúThen neither do I condemn you,‚Ä̬†Jesus declared. ‚ÄúGo now and leave your life of sin.”

”Pro-Life” – Supporting the belief that abortion should be outlawed, because you believe that abortion in any form is taking a human life.

”Pro-Choice” – Supporting the belief that women have a choice whether or not to abort a foetus [baby] and voting in favour of legal abortion.

If by some chance you were unfortunate enough to have had an abortion, I am so sorry for your loss!

Psalm 139:1 – ”O LORD, you have searched me and you known me.”

Please watch this incredible you-tube video on THE MIRACLE OF HUMAN CREATION here¬†or below –¬†it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!

”… toodododoodoodoodododoo … Don’t worry, be happy now …”

~hahahaha~ Your√© probably wondering what on earth I am ”todooodoodooddoo-ering” about, that was my effort to hum-sing or ”mock-copy” the tune of a song that my folks frivolously enjoyed many many moons back.

The Holy Spirit led me to pray in numerous directions through-out the early hours of this morning, I felt the burden of yesterdays frank crabbiness, lifting. When I awoke everything seemed BRIGHTER, BETTER ūüôā

Hence the words of the song:¬†Don’t worry, be happy now ūüėČ

His tender mercies really are new every morning!

After whipping up Jon’s breakies and a cuppa hot coffee, Jon read Psalm 140 – 144 to me.

Oh man! This was so in-sink with Psalm 116  that I posted yesterday which affected me so powerfully that I felt no need to elaborate on it.

I delightfully thought back to the period in my life where God had given me my heart’s desire, an incredibly gifted godly husband with a heart after Gods very own heart!

Jon & I

There were times when I doubted, times when I fought, times when I rebelled, times when I just was not sure if God would do what He said He would. I am ashamed to admit this but it’s true. Often I have to watch what I say, to no avail at times because I fail repeatedly by complaining, especially when I am impatient!!

Psalm 141:3-4 AMP РSet a guard, O Lord, before my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips. Incline my heart not to submit or consent to any evil thing

I have to remember to think on and speak goods things, noble things, godly things … NOT GERALDINE THINGS ūüėČ

This day, 14/11/2013, I am reminded of His love, the fulfilled promises I myself have experienced and the wonderful blessings in my life for which; I am utterly grateful! Thank YOU Lord Jesus!

Psalm 143:8 AMP РCause me to hear Your loving-kindness in the morning, for on You do I lean and in You do I trust. Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk, for I lift up my inner self to You.

The Lord has encouraged me so through these AMAZINGGGGgggg scriptures; that I want to encourage you!!!!

HE IS NOT DONE WITH YOU YET! Nothing but nothing can nullify the Lords promise and HIS WILL!

Isaiah 55:11 KJV – ”So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper¬†in the thing¬†whereto I sent it.

God wants us to be blissfully, joyfully, glad, cheerful and content =

{Precious, powerful Holy Spirit, bring to light the truth of the wonderful word of God for us, give us the understanding and the willingness of heart and mind to receive Your purposed will and intentions toward us! We worship you!

Thank YOU that we are fearfully and wonderfully made! Thank YOU that You have our best interests at heart!}

Take these scriptures and any others He may give you, with sincerity of heart and childlike faith, AGREE with His will and SUBMIT to Him with reverence. After-all, there is none like Him! None!!!!

Psalm 144:15 AMP – ”Happy¬†and¬†blessed are the people who are in such a case; yes, happy (blessed, fortunate, prosperous, to be envied) are the people whose God is the Lord!”

DSCN7730 (2)

1 I love the Lord, because He has heard [and now hears] my voice and my supplications.

2 Because He has inclined His ear to me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.

3 The cords and sorrows of death were around me, and the terrors of Sheol (the place of the dead) had laid hold of me; I suffered anguish and grief (trouble and sorrow).

4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord: O Lord, I beseech You, save my life and deliver me!

5 Gracious is the Lord, and [rigidly] righteous; yes, our God is merciful.

6 The Lord preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He helped and saved me.

7 Return to your rest, O my soul, for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.

8 For You have delivered my life from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling and falling.

9 I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

10 I believed (trusted in, relied on, and clung to my God), and therefore have I spoken [even when I said], I am greatly afflicted.

11 I said in my haste, All men are deceitful and liars.

12 What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me? [How can I repay Him for all His bountiful dealings?]

13 I will lift up the cup of salvation and deliverance and call on the name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows to the Lord, yes, in the presence of all His people.

15 Precious (important and no light matter) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (His loving ones).

16 O Lord, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid; You have loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call on the name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my vows to the Lord, yes, in the presence of all His people,

19¬†In the courts of the Lord‚Äôs house‚ÄĒin the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Stay leprous if you want to!

, , , , , , ,

2 Kings 5: 13-14¬†NIV- Naaman‚Äôs servants went to him and said, ‚ÄúMy father,¬†if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‚ÄėWash and be cleansed‚Äô!

Needless to say that even though the valiant King Naaman was completely outraged at the idea of washing himself in the Jordan 7 times, he eventually came to his senses and did what he was told to. The reward was remarkably significant! His skin was restored to that of a new-born babe and all because he humbled himself and followed Gods modest instruction!

Is it not the same with us sometimes? We wait for God to give us some GRAND GESTURE to glorify His name, or we wait for some HIGH CALLING / MINISTRY before we feel ready to do or commit to real kingdom work??

Sometimes, if not, rather often, God requires simple, SMALL steps of obedience for which He offers GREAT reward.

There could be some issues, which like illness, affect our spiritual well-being. By refusing to adjust the small things in our lives, we may miss the GREAT impact and the GREAT reward we could have had because it seemed insignificant at the time?

So basically, you can stay leprous if you want to!

You could be facing a much greater loss than you bargained for? Imagine, Namaan could have lived his remaining years shamefully covered with that dreadful disease, but instead, he made the right, yet meek choice and in-turn he was healed!

The door you have been trusting God to open for you, could be right in-front of you! The healing you have begged God for could be right around the corner! The restoration you fasted for is about to commence in full brilliance…

BUT the catch is that it might not look the way you expected or even wanted it to, maybe that is the whole point! LESS OF ME – MORE OF HIM!? God really does know what He is doing and He knows exactly how to do it!

~Perhaps there’s been a nudging at your heart to bake something for a neighbor you’ve lived near for years but never done the effort of meeting.

~Perhaps the Lords set a boundary for you to be exempt from certain luxuries or things you ”cannot live without” for a while. No explanations, just obedience.

~Perhaps the Lords prompted you to wakeup 20 minutes earlier to spend quality time with him?

~Perhaps you decided to do something but never pulled through?

~Perhaps you wanted to but never got around to sending your grandparents that letter?

~You may feel to do an even more insignificant thing like simply smiling at a stranger or buying the person who gives you the most grief at work a cup of coffee…

JUST DO IT! You never know what wonderful reward lies in wait for you, what healing, and what breakthrough!

EVERY single small gesture of love we show others is a HUGE gesture of love we show toward God!

Remember Gods voice is heard in the gentle whisper – so listen carefully and intentionally!

Job 26:14 – These are only glimpses of what he does. We [only] hear a whisper of him! Who can comprehend the thunder of his power?

Little Miss ‘Bossy-Boots’

, , , , , , , , ,

A photo of me as a teeny bop!

A photo of me as a teeny bop!

Embarrassingly I have to admit, I have always been quite the ”little miss bossy-boots”. I sometimes over-extend and over-involve myself, especially when I care ALLOT! Can you relate? Or is it just me!?

God has used this ”ruling nature of mine” in good ways to but sometimes He reins me in with the harness of His whispered word, on days like today!

When I searched my heart while praying the only words that came to mind were:

Love is PATIENT, Love is KIND.

I guess when I weigh this up, in all my endeavors to try fix things through the years and make things better; I ended up making more of a mess at times.

It’s not my duty to fix others, it is my duty to fix me, with God’s help of-course and the piercing truth of His word which is undeniably the SHARPEST and HOTTEST knife which has sliced through the ‘butter of my being!!!’

To be truly patient means to endure long-suffering, to be extremely tolerant and some-what a ”little easy going” at times (so not my strong-suite! haha)

There are different ways of writhing in agony! To be like Jesus we need to suffer, suffer, suffer … for the benefit of others and¬†sometimes suffering is watching those you love suffer (without getting involved).

Mistakes are part of the dues one pays for a full life.  ~Sophia Loren

It means loving through it all!¬†I guess this means holding my tongue and NOT giving the correct advice or even guiding someone in the ”obvious” direction ALL THE TIME haha.

I am so grateful to God for all my loved-ones who have put up with me and all my quirks! Its pure grace I tell ya!¬†It means seeing the bigger picture! It means that GOD IS IN CONTROL ūüôā What a relief!! Phew!

If you stop people from making mistakes you actually rob them of invaluable life lessons which they would perhaps never have acquired elsewhere but through making those darn mistakes.

Psalms 37:24 РThough he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth [him with] his hand.

After all, who are we, who am I, to point out err of another man, is to point out err in me! Let live, let love!

I am learning to learn from my mistakes slowly but surely ūüėČ

Happiness, Horror and Hope

, , , , , ,

We have all had a week of Happiness, Horror and Hope at some point in our lives… There is a song that keeps replaying in my mind, even in the midst of the sorrow that wearies the heart ever so often!

He has made me glad, he has made me glad, I will rejoice for He has made me glad.

I will enter His courts with thanks-giving in my heart, I will enter His courts with praise, I will say this is the day that the Lord has made.

I will rejoice for He has made me glad.

The Lord places unshakable measures of faith in us when we need it most! May He give you this day a reservoir of unfailing hope in HIS provision that never empties.

Romans 15:13: РMay the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

As in that precious song I quoted, we must CHOOSE to move forward, and we must CHOOSE to move forward in JOY, in song, in prayer, in faith.

Romans 12:12 РBe joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

We cannot accept only good at the hand of the Lord, no, we are aware that we need to embrace the hardships which will develop in us a steadfastness of character.

The Lord got you through the week that past, and He will take you through the transition that lies in the week ahead … He will carry you through again!!

The Lord is encouraging you to remain under His wing until the calamity has passed by and it will pass by! The Lord is teaching us, His people, a new kind of wisdom.

Job 33:31-33 РPay attention, Job, and listen to me; be silent, and I will speak. If you have anything to say, answer me; speak up, for I want to vindicate you. But if not, then listen to me; be silent, and I will teach you wisdom.

Vindicate Your bride Lord, our Mighty God! For Your Names sake, for Your glory, show Your loved ones Your salvation!

Isaiah 40:31 –¬†“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

”Have The Courage Of Your Convictions‚ÄĚ – Ian Smith

As with my article on Why God HATES star-signs!,¬†my intention is not to enforce my own dogma on you, I simply want to share what I’ve discovered on the topic of Halloween, from research and scripture.

When I sought the Lord about whether or not I should write on this He gave me this scripture:

Psalm 115:17 -18 –¬†Those who are dead do not praise the LORD, nor do those who go into the silence [of the grave]

Halloween in essence, is of Celtic origin, a celebration was held to honour the dead, thereby¬†honouring the god of the dead. The Celt people would dress up in ”costumes” similar to those of dead spirits and demons to confuse the spirits so that they would not be harmed by them on the night of this celebration.

Romans 13:12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

I know there are a lot of people who see it as ”harmless” to dress their kids up in costumes of witches, fairies and super heroes, or ”less harmless” outfits such as animals, but in all truthHALLOWEEN celebrates darkness and death whether you like it or not.

The whole meaning behind the festival is DARK. We are of the light, so why would we as the Holy Body of Christ celebrate this nonsense in any way or form??

John 3:19-20 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

If you feel the Lord has shed some light on this subject for you and YOU CHOOSE to no longer partake in this detestable celebration, here is the prayer that Herald Ministries included in this document, click her for more info –¬†HALLOWEEN – Herald Ministry Prayer Letter

“Father God, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I renounce any involvement my family, forefathers and I had with this practice of Halloween. I now cancel any covenants made with the spirit world and any worship we have given to Satan and his demons. I turn my back on this practice and ask you to cleanse me and my family with the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son.”

I have included a PDF document with¬†requests for prayer from Herald Ministries, it has more detailed information on what Halloween is all about – you can download it here –¬†HALLOWEEN – Herald Ministry Prayer Letter

Perhaps this message was ‚ÄĚhard to swallow, but a lot of truth usually is.‚Ä̬†The word of God is pretty straight forward, here’s a final encouragement –

2 Corinthians 6:14 – Be you not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? and what partnership has light with darkness?

Women of Valor

I have added another three very special ladies to my Women of Valor post! God has used you, Sharon, Sanet and Rene, to impact me very deeply!

The Valor Society - By Geraldine

This is in honor and in description of the Women of Valor that I have encountered in some of my most memorable escapades with the Lord.

A handful of women who are valiantly walking as God has destined them to, in the power of His might and with the love of Jesus Christ as their source which is being made manifest to all of those around them, including me.

It has been a privilege to share a portion of my life with each these very individual and equally important cohorts of Christ!

‚ÄĚWe do not always see ourselves as other see us ‚Äď often times reminders are needed as to how¬†magnificent¬†our¬†existence really is.‚ÄĚ

”Rock ‘n Roll”

Matthew 12:36 KJV - ''But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.''

Matthew 12:36 KJV – ”But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgement.”

We built this city, we built this city on Rock ‘n Roll …

I have had this song stuck in my head, I heard it playing somewhere and I’ve randomly been singing it over and over and over! This morning when I hummed it in my head, the Lord said:

Gerry, why have you been proclaiming this over the city?

This revelation hit me right in the gut!! By HIS GRACE, HIS MERCY, HIS BLOOD and HIS LOVE I have the Spirit of the living God inside of me, how could I not realize the power of the words I was using? You have got to be kidding me!? Yeah, I meant it harmlessly but the truth is, our words carry weight!

What we listen to matters, what we say matters, what we see matters, what we do matters!”

1 Corinthians 6:17 – ”But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.”

I was reminded of the story in the book of 2 Kings 5, where Elisha’s servant Gehazi had lied to him. Elisha had very clearly stated that he did not want anything from King Namaan in return for the healing received. Elisha’s spirit was WITH Gehazi when he ”secretly” ran off to the King falsely requesting gifts on Elisha’s behalf. Elisha’s spirit knew exactly what had happened because his spirit was WITH Gehazi.

It is the same in quintessence with us and God. He is omnipresent, He is IN us. He knows the truth about everything and everyone. This just encouraged me to really dig deep into the Lords heart, His purity and His presence and it definitely made me think twice about the things I say, sing, see and do.

40 Year Wanderer ~ Live Out Faith Every Day, Every Way

Our language as Christ Followers is important in how we portray the Truth.

Language has changed drastically over the decades. By that, I don’t mean the actual words as much as I mean the usage of words. We have changed the meanings of words to fit an agenda, we have appointed innuendo where there was never any intended, and we have become lazy in conversations to the extent we don’t even care. But as bothersome as those things are, worse yet is the way many Christ Followers speak. The words come rolling off our tongues, and we don’t even think about the effects.

Words leave our minds, flow from our mouths, and take on a life of their own as they sink into the minds and hearts of those within earshot. They are seeds and they are powerful. They will either grow to be weeds or lovely beautiful fruit that…

Jeremiah 29:11 - ''For I know the plans I have for you,‚ÄĚ declares the Lord, ‚Äúplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.''

Jeremiah 29:11 – ”For I know the plans I have for you,‚ÄĚ declares the Lord, ‚Äúplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

The text I received was alarming! I dropped everything and ran down the hallway of our complex. Upon reaching her house, dread filled my heart. Her gown, her duvet, her sheets, everything was covered in splats of dried blood!

Weak in stature from the night’s events, she asked if I would help her wash everything,¬†the growth on her left side had been bleeding and she woke up terrified and soaked in blood. After removing the bedding and the clothes, I motioned toward her bare bed. She sat down next to me and wept while softly shaking, melting in my arms. I thought my heart was going to fall out of my chest with both pain and love alike!!

She said: ”I wish He would look upon me just once!”¬†I knew she was referring to God, and I said: ”He just has.”

Whilst washing everything, I felt the Lord prompt me to redo her entire bedroom! I spoke to my husband, we agreed this was Gods will and so we prayed – it was to be ”The Red Room”. The Lord had put some money into our bank account through a faithful couple earlier in that month which we had spared not knowing what the finance was for until now

Gods answer: ”Give what you have and I will provide for the rest!”

Needless to say, He provided! We found a stunning duvet cover, a lovely mat, good pillows and sheets, as well as a pretty patterned scatter cushion. Now all we needed was the perfect red curtains – but we had no money left. Upon entering the store where we purchased the bedspread, we ran into a couple whom we’d only met a few weeks ago. They told us that they were redoing the interior of their new apartment. The lady in her fun charismatic way randomly¬†asked us if we wanted brand new red curtains as they had decided on a different colour scheme!!! ūüôā ūüôā ūüôā

A week later the Lord led Jon and I to go do the make-over! God gave us Deuteronomy 11 and 12 and confirmed that this was the way in which HE CHOSE to ESTABLISH HIS NAME among us, He had chosen this precious women’s home, her resting place. Little did we know, the Lord had more planned than that?

After we turned her gloomy old room into a feminine haven of red roses, deep purple, cream and white, this dear aged women viewed its magnificence. She wept, barely able to stand, marvelling at what God had done for her. She stroked her curtains remarking that she had never owned anything quite so beautiful before!

The Lord whispered into my heart that she was to Him like the disciple John;¬†she was the disciple whom Jesus loved!!! Overwhelmed with emotion I had no words. As we all sat down, Jon ministered to her and she gave her whole heart to our Lord Jesus! The next morning when I went to see her, she looked more radiant than what you’d imagine a bride to be on her wedding day!!!

This is the kind of God we serve! A God who does wonderful things, He chose to establish His name in a way that she would understand! He gave her not only what she needed but also what she had longed for, deserved and desired.

1 Peter 2:9-10 – ”But you are a chosen people,¬†a royal priesthood,¬†a holy nation,¬†God‚Äôs special possession,¬†that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God;¬†once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

In the heart of every man! (A few words from Jon)

Is the way to a man's heart really through his stomach?? ;-)

Is the way to a man’s heart really through his stomach?? ūüėČ

While pondering on what to write for today’s article, I found myself being romanced by the ‘idea’ of an autumn in New York. Yellow, red and burnt orange leaves cascading off of the branches¬†of¬†gigantic¬†trees. Cool weather, dusty blue skies, old wooden benches running down the aisle of the parks walk ways … How romantic!

This whole ”fantasy” reminded me of¬†occasions¬†where I have experienced this sense of knowing His presence and His need for us to come closer to Him. Its romance at its peak, a dance with the creator and lover of our souls! One of my fondest memories was when my husband would write long pieces in his journal to the Lord and then on the contrary there were days he would write none.

I paged through the book my husband handed me, it was his personal journal. He wanted to know whether I thought it had any impact. That afternoon, while he was at work, I sobbed as I read the ”heart-to-heart’s” he had with the Lord. I never knew my husband could speak words such as these, never mind write them! I prayed as I fell on my face, loving how God had blessed me with a man so fierce.

A few weeks later, I had a vision of Jesus, sitting on the side of a wall in a park. He appeared to be dressed in what looked like the purest of white cotton trousers and a flawless matching shirt. I saw his feet, but not his face. He was twirling a twig between the fingers of his hands. He seemed almost¬†wrestles … expectant.

I asked the Lord: ”What is wrong? Why have you shown yourself to me this way?”, He replied: ”Tell him I am waiting, waiting¬†anxiously¬†for the next time he writes to me.”

In awe, I embraced the Lord, tears streaming down my face. Oh how glorious is our King. So real Рso passionate. It touched me in such a way that I would never be the same again. These letters meant so much to Jesus that He waited, with uncontrollable desire; He revealed His genuine heart to us.

My husband looked at me intently after I had shared this important message with him. His heart raced as he described how he felt knowing that God Almighty awaited this precious communication between the two of them.

John 15:15¬†–¬†”No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.”

Jon asked me some time later if I had ever read these writings again as I was welcome to, but respectfully had not. They were so sacred and powerful, I admired this intimacy in such a way that I did not want to be a part of it, if that makes sense? I would continue having my own priceless valuable times with the Lord over coffee as I have done through-out the years.

”Quiet times” became a treasure I would value for the rest of my lifetime here on earth!

Know today, that the Lords heart is so sincere, so pure, so powerful. He waits, ever so eagerly for the next time you will meet with Him. He truly is a God of intimacy, a God of relationship, a God of love. To serve the only God is privilege and a pleasure!

A few words from Jon, my precious husband:

”Men keep things inside, writing is my way out. I find my strength in it, I know I am safe. It is a manly thing. When I write things just pop up and I am able to speak. Whereas in general I would normally not voice those things, now I do.

Men are emotional beings as well, just in a more manly way. Men need to step out and be brave, just write. It’s not about how much you write, it’s about what you write.¬†Every-time¬†I write, and complete my writing to Him; it is as if I have accomplished something. I started and I finished. It has taught me about myself.

Imagine being deeply in-love with someone and telling them you will be there in a few minutes and then never arriving. That is how it feels when I do not write to Him. He is my Father, and I love Him. Writing my prayers have brought forth a lot of fruit, He always writes back. I see the evidence of my prayers throughout the day.

The real words of man are in his heart. ”

Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid,¬†neither¬†be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you everywhere you go.”

The Apple Of My Eye :-)

Zechariah 2:8 - ''For thus said the LORD of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye...''

Zechariah 2:8 (NIV) – ”For thus said the LORD of hosts, after his glory sent me to the nations who plundered you, for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye…”

A memory I’d like to share with you:

”Ah man, the weekend ended abruptly, like a sudden surprise, just not one I hoped for ūüėȬ†Yep, it was Monday! The dishes were piled up on the sink, the lounge looked a little groggy, warm winter blankets, scatter cushions bundled in the corners of the couches and my bright sunny flowers had seen their final breath as they lay flopped over the vintage bottle I’d placed them in.

It was time, time to get my home into its usual peaceful state but something did not feel quite right. I sat quietly and listened. Glorious silence … but then the silence was too silent! I wondered what was missing!

I was reminded of a great preacher that compared the Holy Spirit to a white dove. He said that it was so very gentle, so still and so sensitive to even the slightest sound that anything, even slightly threatening, just the simple wave of a hand, could frighten it away! He emphasized that the Holy Spirit is that HOLY! Like a dove … To remain in Him, we need to be holy like Him.

That was it!!! The Holy Spirit!!!!!

I was so busy and wound up in the events of the past week that I’d lost touch. Ok, to be frank, I’d lost a little more than that including my patience and my temper at least twice ūüėČ but all jokes aside, I realized, I gave the dove no invitation, no quiet time, no intimacy, no space¬†… I had practically shooed Him away with the consumption of self!!!

I gently, kindly, lovingly beckoned Him near…¬†I said I was sorry, I asked Him to please return. I could not be without oil, I was running on empty without even noticing the ”warning signs”.

Suffice to say Рit was the most potent personal encounter I’d had in a while! It was as if everything just fell into place (even though so many other things around me were falling apart) I sat down on the greenish floral fabric bench, allowing a content sigh to leave my breath and said:

¬†”Lord, I am all Yours, all Yours.”

While making coffee a little later in the afternoon, the Lord spoke only these words to me:

”The apple of my eye! You are the apple of my eye!”

Can you just imagine how special I felt in this moment!? Lord You truly are magnificent!!

My ‘new’ favourite word!!!

”WELCOME”¬†– To receive gladly, received with pleasure, WANTED, longed-for…

Everyone deserves to feel this way!

Welcoming people into your heart, your life, your space and your world is something to ponder on! Some people are social-butterflies, and others, not so much. Is there some kinda ”juggle balance?” Are there boundaries? Does this even matter? Love has no bounds, it is not self-seeking. It does not even matter how you show it, as long as you sow it ‚Äď others will reap from it, as will you! So … whether you‚Äôre a social-lite or a not-so-social-lite ūüôā … you still have something to give.

Yeah .. we could all be more flexible huh ;-)

Yeah .. we could all be more flexible huh ūüėČ

Romans 12:13¬†”Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.”

Contributing to needs doesn’t only refer to financial gestures, or lending a hand, fulfilling the needs of others by also giving of yourself¬†is a far greater gift and honestly a much pricier one at that!

  • Use the word: ‚Äė‚ÄôWelcome‚Äô‚Äô as an invitation the next time you hear someone’s having a baby.
  • Use the word: ‚Äė‚ÄôWelcome‚Äô‚Äô when your folks pop in for coffee.
  • Use the word: ‚Äė‚ÄôWelcome‚Äô‚Äô to show people that you want them to be a part of your day, even just for a few minutes.
  • Use the word: ‚Äė‚ÄôWelcome‚Äô‚Äô the next time you walk your hubby through the door after work.

The next time you feel forgotten or too busy to breathe or perhaps you’ve even been down in the dumps lately-

We are received gladly, received with pleasure, WANTED; longed-for by the Most High God. Christ in us is the HOPE of glory. Be that person who offers the same WELCOME Jesus gave you; to others. It‚Äôs a wonderful thing isn’t it? The ability and the privilege of giving‚Ķ The extraordinary power of the love we possess deep within, the lavish WELCOME we can offer anyone and everyone for the sake of Christ who is IN US and FOR US!

Deep Dark Dingy Valley …

, , , , , , , , , , ,

Deuteronomy 27:3 - ''And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.''

Deuteronomy 27:3 – ”And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.”

Wow, its only Monday and I already have a handful of companions that are in the valley, where the shadow of ”death” has tried to resurrect itself over our lives, circumstances and our most precious faith.

I read somewhere, the other day, (but couldn’t find it again ūüė¶ )¬†something along the lines of¬† – ”we will experience surreal growth¬†for Gods glory while in the valley,¬†that’s¬†why we are put there in the first place.”

It makes complete sense, look at Jesus, His disciples, their ”valleys” were¬†martyred¬†by agony, pain, suffering, cruel displays of undeserved wrath BUT these same men wrote the BOOK OF LIFE, so the valleys have their purpose even when¬†seemingly¬†disguised by ugliness .. there is something sweet that lies ahead for sure!

I know now, as I have known many times before that this is a part of Gods divine will and plan for us. Before we are released in certain aspects we need to¬†conquer¬†to soar on wings of eagles. WE ARE NOT DEFEATED in the valley … we are just PASSING THROUGH

Well, the scripture actually explains itself –

Psalm 23:4 – ”Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

The Lord truly is gracious. He gave me a very vivid dream this morning, one preparing me for some things going on and some things I will be facing in time to come. I almost felt like running away for the sake of myself and those I love that are suffering. Then it dawned on me, yeah, many of us might be in this Deep Dark Dingy Valley BUT no matter where we turn, if it is not to Christ that may be where we remain for a longgg time.

Problems do not¬†disappear¬†by ignoring them, they get resolved by facing them and dealing with them head on and most importantly surrendering them to God. We need to walk in RELATIONSHIP with Christ or we will falter, stumble and fall… He says IF WE MAKE HIM OUR MOST HIGH (Psalm 91) then NO HARM WILL BEFALL US! Take important note that there is an IF, a condition leading to the safer greener pastures…

I have so many questions, wrestling many things deep within, wondering if I have lost the plot or if I was ever really on it to begin with! But then I found the greatest comfort in the below scriptures – I know Him because HE CHOSE to reveal Himself to me – what a gorgeous undeserving humbling¬†privilege¬†for us all … I need not fear or be dismayed. He hears my heart, my thoughts, He loves me and He loves you more than we could ever love one another!

Isaiah 30:21 – ”And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‚ÄúThis is the way, walk in it,‚ÄĚ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.”

1 John 2:27 – ”But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie‚ÄĒjust as it has taught you, abide in him.”

This Hope arose in my spirit today reading and rereading scripture after scripture after scripture. There is just nothing like a fresh dose of seeking and a good dose of bible time, check this out, simply put, the answer to EVERYTHING:

Matthew 1:23 – ”Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name¬†Emmanuel‚ÄĚ (which means, God with us).

Psalm 19:7 – ”The law of the¬†Lord¬†is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the¬†Lord¬†is sure, making wise the simple;”

So to all of yall out there, travelling under the shadow of the dark valley, TAKE HEART! You will stand up under the tribulation, God designed it that way! Our Redeemer Lives!!

Matthew 6:25 - "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?''

Matthew 6:25¬†NIV – “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”

A man I admire, who is courageous in the Lord, wrestled¬†publicly¬†with the fact that he did not have enough to give. He unhappily retired his frustration with:¬†”Really, is this a testimony? Not being able to give to those in need. I did not have a single cent to aid in the desperate circumstance of someone who needed help this week!”

Something in me jolted, part of it was sorrow, and the other was disbelief!

His heart was pure with a strong desire to help those in dire need. His belief that¬†God simply will provide and should provide for such a time as this was something I could not argue. My heart was torn at the hardship he was enduring. Desperately I shouted in my mind –¬†”There must be more than this?”¬†Jesus did not have a pillow, never mind a single cent to give. I wonder, did he have any money at all?

I found myself sitting with the same torment but to no avail. I see people who are in need of financial aid and I have nothing to offer them. Pausing in thought – Deep inside my spirit something was tugging at me …

Another day – Another Dollar‚Äô‚Äô – A kingdom principle? I am not so sure. Yes, we should work hard with our hands and provide for¬†ourselves¬†so as to not be a burden, even the disciples caught fish for a ”living”¬†but what if you do not have a dollar a day to give away?

The words rhyming in song repeatedly through my conscience are –

”Away in a manger,¬†no crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head…”

A sense of freedom dawned upon me; a statement I dare to¬†submit¬†aloud –¬†I do not have to give as the world gives as I am not of the world? Could this be true? Can I be free of the guilt wringing inside of me, the feeling of nausea that often creeps up due to my lack of ”funds” to help those in need?¬†Of-course¬†money makes a difference, a huge difference, but¬†do we have something more to offer? Something more than finance which¬†perishes¬†within seconds… YES!!!!!!

Imagine a single day without the Lords¬†peace, without His presence, the madness of this age would have me utterly dismayed and lifeless. As Christians, we perhaps take this serenity for granted, a way of life, Jesus makes things easier to ”cope with”¬†but is that all it is?

Is it not a peace that by far outweighs anything that this world has to offer?!

A calmness of spirit and mind that brings fulfillment knowing that¬†there is indeed more than this, so much more! A¬†peace¬†so valuable that it grants us ever lasting life!! A harmony deep within which allows us to enter His courts without hesitancy. The powerful presence of God Almighty is available to us 24/7… This is profoundly MORE than anything money can buy!

What we have to offer¬†saves lives, it saves souls, it saves mere mortals from the dungeons of darkness which seek to lay hold of their very breath! Granted, perhaps some will think us foolish.¬†After all what is life without money?¬†Without riches? Without daily necessities? Without¬†the things which we ”need”?

LIFE IS MORE THAN THIS! More than the things of the world РMore than the meeting of basic needs РMore than food or clothes РMore than a roof over our heads and a car to transport us. Yes there is more. Greater riches await those who have put their hope in the KING OF PEACE РJesus Christ of Nazareth.

Psalm 37:25¬†NIV – ”Once I was young, and now I am old.¬†Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned¬†or¬†their children begging for bread.”

Do not let your heart be burdened, give as the Lord gives and ALLOW Him to do the rest. He will not leave us desolate and it is not His gracious will to have people forsaken and left hungry. His will will prevail and He will provide because it is in His very nature to do so. Manna fell from the heavens!

So let it fall Lord …¬†but more so¬†… ¬†open the hearts of those who do NOT have the PEACE of Jesus Christ, so that they may enter into Your courts with thanks giving in their hearts! Give us more courage as Your people¬†who are fully equipped¬†with bibles so that we may offer this¬†BREAD OF LIFE¬†to those who are willing to accept it. Lord not only this, but bless us so that we can provide material things as well, just because You are¬†merciful¬†and You know that we need these things as well.

John 14:27¬†KJV – ‘‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:¬†not as the world giveth, give I unto you.¬†Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

This preacher, even though he had no money,¬†just like Jesus, he continually feeds the sheep¬†with far more nourishing food than any money could buy¬†that’s¬†for sure! I take comfort in this! May blessing upon blessing be given unto this man who is a source of joy and ”food” to me and the whole congregation of his flock. Jesus truly is Lord above all!

Women of Valor

This is in honor and in description of the Women of Valor that I have encountered in some of my most memorable escapades with the Lord.

A handful of women who are valiantly walking as God has destined them to, in the power of His might and with the love of Jesus Christ as their source which is being made manifest to all of those around them, including me.

It has been a privilege to share a portion of my life with each these very individual and equally important cohorts of Christ!

”We do not always see ourselves as other see us – often times reminders are needed as to how¬†magnificent¬†our¬†existence really is.”

”Why did you just leave me to die?? You knew the truth!”

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” – Chinese Proverb

I felt the Holy Spirit unction me to leave the doctor’s office and step outside. Jon looked at me and smiled, slight bewilderment in his eyes, the doctor paused a moment and then¬†continued¬†to examine him. The last words I heard her¬†compassionately¬†sharing with concern were something along the lines of:

”We’ll have to get you to the hospital to test you for cancer asap!” I hit a blank and felt guilty for leaving Jon alone, but the Spirit of God kept me grounded. I sat down on one of the green-blue chairs and leaned my head against the fickle white carbon¬†fiber¬†wall with a sigh.

To my amusement I noticed the sweet African lady I smiled at earlier, she was still seated awaiting her consultation I assumed. I tried talking to her but she did not understand much English, or so she gestured, and could not really speak it. For some reason I felt the need to sit closer to her, so I shifted up to the seat right next to hers. She nervously forced what looked like a smirk.

Awkwardly I tried to find out why she was there and I asked if I could pray for her. She shook her head, not knowing exactly what I was trying to tell her. I figured,

”Oh well, I’ll pray anyway – the Holy Spirit speaks her language!”

I placed my arm around her shoulder and she knowingly directed my hand toward her leg, it was clearly notable that her knee was abnormally swollen. I prayed in tongues and I was not sure what the Lord wanted yet … just¬†healing or her precious heart?

I still felt nothing in particular and began to sing songs over her. My hands felt warm and¬†excitement¬†brewed in us both, her face lightened up enthusiastically with so much trust. Then I had a vision of her with children, lots of them and I asked if she had kids by imitating pregnancy ūüôā¬†Imagine! She giggled and stuck out 6 fingers proudly! She has 6 kids!!! I saw her faith grow by the second! Then the Holy Spirit told me to tell her to pray after me to accept Jesus as Lord and the Holy Spirit as her source!

¬†”You have got to be kidding me!! How is she going to understand a word I am saying!??” I asked. But the stirring of the Spirit of God kept building so I bravely requested she repeat after me, hoping she would understand what I was instructing her!

She struggled to formulate the words with English pronunciation but somehow managed to reiterate every word. Within seconds she clapped her hands softly in thanks and began crying! Then she started laughing! I blessed her and we praised, language barrier and all as sisters in the Kingdom of the Most High!

I hugged her tight just as Jon stepped out of the doc’s room. He laughed,¬†knowing¬†the Lord had done something beautiful. He touched her shoulder, smiling at her, then he firmly grasped my hand as we left to go to the hospital. I looked back at her, if only she knew, she had changed my life in that moment. I was sore with sadness that my precious, most beloved husband may have a life-threatening disease, and there she was, God-given Elena (that’s her name). Reminding me that Jesus is the truth, the LIFE, and the way!

My heart swells with awe at the power of our God! NOTHING CAN STOP A MOVE OF GOD!! Absolutely NOTHING!!! No language, no illness, no evil! OUR GOD IS SUPREME!!

John 4:34 NKJV – Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.”

What I got to live out this week was the scripture above, if I had moped around in dire agony and rejected the Lord because of my sorrow over Jon above Gods will, Elena could have asked me one day:

Why did you just leave me to die?? You knew the truth!

Be encouraged, the Lord is not done with us yet!! We are called to this purpose! There is NO BARRIER to big for our God and no sorrow unquenchable with His LOVE!
